Solutions by Lara evolved from a combination of the interesting facets of my work and life experience. I have 15+ years of legal assistant experience, where I dealt with high pressure law firms, detail-oriented work and constant deadlines.

Being organized is my strong suit, and I came to realize it was the reason I was an efficient assistant. This led me to explore the professional organizing world, where I attended and completed The Organizing Academy. As a small business owner, I balanced contract legal work with organizing clients.

 

Being an entrepreneur gave me the flexibility to travel often and explore new places. The more I traveled the more I realized the business world was no longer confined to the four walls of an office. I observed people conducting business in airports, restaurants, hotels and cafes. This defining moment was when I realized I wanted to combine my strong organizational and administrative skills and make the leap into the virtual world of business!

In order to support this new direction, I enrolled in and completed the intensive Virtual Training Program (VTP) at AssistU. The VTP did not “teach” me how to be an assistant; I was already confident in my ability to assist others effectively. What the training brought out in me was how to bring the best, freshest ideas to my clients in order to make working together virtually a success.

  • I am ridiculously organized and was a member of NAPO, which lead me to my niche as a VA.

  • I think self-care is one of the most important things you can do for yourself, and I value a hair appointment as much as a business deadline.

  • I love having fun through my work and helping others by using the skills I’ve been given.

  • I strive hard to trust my intuition (because it’s never wrong...).

  • I’m very calm and never yell. It just doesn’t suit me.

  • I’ve been blessed with enough common sense for several people. (It’s the Virgo in me.)

  • I do not like to stress, freak out, or worry. I love the quote, “Worrying about tomorrow empties today of its strengths.”

  • Admin tasks are my specialty! I’ll take care of everything else. You take care of business.

  • I excel at scheduling and maintaining calendars. The attorneys I have worked for in the past made me an expert at scheduling and re-scheduling!

  • I can look at your ideas with a fresh set of eyes.

  • I spend a great deal of time doing online research. I always share the info with my clients for their benefit.
